The Escape

Germany 1945. Detta works as a translator for a Nazi-run labour camp for French workers. One winter morning Detta passes a group of exhausted British prisoners of war being force-marched westwards. One prisoner catches her eye. The following day a local priest reveals that the prisoner needs her help. Berlin 1989. After witnessing the fall of the Wall Miranda a British photography student flees through the rubble into the East. Trapped in an abusive relationship she believes her one hope for escape lies with an old postcard of the village where her grandmother Detta was born. But she suspects she is being followed by the Stasi…
